Tuesday, February 8, 2011 - Popped one on Super Bowl Sunday. Oh the nose, leather, raw meat, smoke, black fruit and lavender. Then I took a sip. Freaking Syrahgasm in my mouth. Rich fruit, mouth coating texture, blackberry and blueberry with a good balancing act between the acidity and tannins. Not overdone but almost toeing the line. Finished with a little tartness as well fresh ground pepper. Drank the entire bottle in a couple hours. Huge value here. Another extra base hit for Morgan.
Grazing the aisles today at the local wine store and spotted 2 bottles for $19.99ea that I quickly swiped up. Popped yet another and don't feel guilty because I still have my allotment in my cellar.
