Saturday, February 4, 2012 - Purchased and cellared since release. Dark red, almost black at year 12. Nose on first pour: Barnyard reminiscent of Monbousquet (Bordeaux) in many vintages, which I love. This blows off in a few minutes of twirling. Then mature cassis, leather, cedar, and hints of paint thinner (for a few minutes). Soft in the mouth, balanced fruit/acid, medium long finish. Great with a prime rib.
