2004 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Sunday, October 1, 2023 - Has evolved and is really hitting its stride now. More energy vs last bottle. Tannins now completely melted into a fine powder. Nose is classic St Julien dominated by cigarr-box/cedar. Palate has some lovely sweet cassis, tobacco and pencilshave. A surprisingly spicy finish with good length. Lagrange is still hallmark Bordeaux for us and clearly did better than many in this vintage. Probably at peak now.
