Sunday, September 11, 2022 - Dark fruit, earth and alcohol on the nose. Felt tight and unopened, even after decanting. Good structure, solid tannins, some mild dark fruit, woody vanilla, tobacco. All the elements are there, and overall a good wine but this one left us mildly disappointed. For a 20yr old Grand Cru we were expecting more. Either it’s just where it’s going to be in terms of life/flavor, or it’s got many years ahead of it, perhaps both are true.
