Friday, January 19, 2024 - Perfect seal on a very sound cork. Garnet colour - bright but bricking up around the edge. Nose is quite muted - earthy with a definite hint of very fresh oyster mushroom - perhaps an early autumnal vibe overall? Real purity on the palate with ripe strawberry and sour red cherry. Pronounced streak of elegant salinity with silky smooth tannins and a little green vegetal kick towards the end of a long finish. Last of a bottle of 12 and much improved on my last note 2 years ago. Looking through the notes made by myself over the past 10 years and those made by other Cellartrackers there is a clear element of bottle variation in this vintage. Fortunately this bottle is one of the blessed!
