Saturday, May 18, 2013 - Maturing robe. Nose is discreetly tucked in to the wardrobe, edgy and acidic hiding some dark fruit.
Taste is a completely different matter. Well balanced, maturing wine with powerful, mature tannin that must have been pre-eminent in its earlier days. Fruit is still riding in the back-seat. Well composed, well orchestrated and restrained. Only drawback is low level of complexity.
If you like maturing Bordeaux of the tannic and slightly prosaic kind, this is fabulous. Will go well with food.
If I had a few btls, I'd keep them.
Tasted at Riedel Bar, Sogo Enoteca (Yokohama).
