Saturday, January 5, 2013 - Ordered a half bottle off the wine list at the Gramercy Tavern in NYC. Light clear garnet. Nose of black cherry, fig, hoisin, and licorice. Medium palate of black cherry, blackberry, fig, hoisin, smoked meat, licorice, and pepper. Good length. Fairly high acidity. Youthful tannins. This wine will likely be better with a couple of years in the cellar. For the moment, it shows more structure than fruit. Full disclosure: my wife liked it more than I did.
