Monday, February 6, 2012 - A full-bodied effort from Domaine Giraud. The nose is full of the classical tones of dark fruit, morellos and kirsch. There is also a subtle whiff of menthol and mature apples(?). Palate is nicely integrated but reveals this effort is very young since the tannins are more vivid and expressive compared to the fruit and the pleasant acidity. My guess is this wine needs a few years to settle down and integrate from a palate perspective. (score is 92+)
