Friday, April 26, 2013 - Light, easy drinking. Not at all "challenging", but great for what it is. What it isn't is cheap anymore unfortunately. I have called it the Rosenthal "kiss" before (you know, write a back label that says way more about you than the wine and charge an extra $7-$10 for the privilege ...... ) but I have begun to notice market pushback and this wine has actually dropped in price a dollar or two in recent vintages. Anyway, light, core of nice pure red berries with dust edges. Early barnyard funk on the nose but this quickly blew off and red fruits abound. On the palate slight bitter tones mingle with fruit and oak (??) . Great food wine. Not a long term ager.
