Monday, May 11, 2020 - Popped the cork and let it open up in the bottle for about 2.5 hours before enjoying with a T-bone off the grill; grilled asparagus with miso butter and home made french fries. Nose was very pretty upon opening, and you could taste the sunny Tuscan summer of '08 very clearly. Velvety, soft tannins made this super easy to drink though seemingly thinner than other vintages of this wine. A great wine for sure but not intended for much in the way of a long cellar life. I only have one '08 and think now is an ideal time to drink it. No upside from here but would probably keep for a little longer. The color started out bright but muddied/browned out at about hour 4.
