Saturday, January 14, 2017 - Kind of a burly dry riesling that has become more accessible of late. My last bottle though I'd jump on a well stored case if I ever found one. Still has that very light straw/gold color with a green tinge I associate with Keller VDF and QBA wines. Always a pleasure. Fills the nostrils with sea spray and citrus skin. Has a granular minerality in the mouth, but now allows subtle flavors to permeate all the dryness. The various vintages of VDF I've had always seemed to go through a dumb phase that made me question those who extolled their ageing potential. This bottle puts it in perspective- VDF is a wine to buy by the box and store. This bottle showed the potential for deep veins of pleasure to be unearthed over time.
