Sunday, September 9, 2018 - Decanted prior to enjoying with a grilled ribeye steak. Very aromatic, and expressive displaying mature aromas of spicy red currant, cooked raspberry, stewed red plums, ripe cherries and complex notes of chewing tobacco, worn leather, and dark, crusty earthiness. Velvety and rich mouthfeel, as the tannins, and acid are very well integrated. Nice balance of fruit, complex flavors, tannin and acid. Probably won’t benefit from further cellaring. Solid finish. Not quite as impressive as I remember two years ago, but nonetheless an outstanding and mature Napa Cabernet. Should drink well through 2020.
