This last bottle of four is showing quite well. Still an opaque dark purple with no hint of bricking. Nose shows an opulent mix of dark berries, spice, and maybe a touch of menthol. A little bit of alcohol on the nose as well. The pallet is plush and refined – this really tastes like an expensive wine-and tannins are minimal and fine. In addition to the dark berry fruits and spice, the palate also reveals some evidence of Promenade oak (kind of a coconut note). Finishes moderately long. All in all, a luxurious and enjoyable wine. Might rebuy are $39.

Starting to lose its stuffing, like a bodybuilder who stopped using steroids and the muscles just turn to flab. I suspect this wine is best in the first 10 years.

Decanted prior to enjoying with a grilled ribeye steak. Very aromatic, and expressive displaying mature aromas of spicy red currant, cooked raspberry, stewed red plums, ripe cherries and complex notes of chewing tobacco, worn leather, and dark, crusty earthiness. Velvety and rich mouthfeel, as the tannins, and acid are very well integrated. Nice balance of fruit, complex flavors, tannin and acid. Probably won’t benefit from further cellaring. Solid finish. Not quite as impressive as I remember two years ago, but nonetheless an outstanding and mature Napa Cabernet. Should drink well through 2020.

Very soft, lite tannins. Enjoyable, decanted and got better after 30 minutes, best after an hour. Probably past peak, but still very enjoyable. Just didn't have the wow factor that other 2007's have had.

Beautiful wine. Well-integrated tannins, cassis and tobacco notes. This is almost too easy to drink, but if you do manage to leave some for a second night, it will be pretty much unchanged.

Very well put together cab in the typical Napa Valley style. Very good concentration and balance. Really went well with prime steak and pepper-red wine reduction sauce. At $40, a reasonable value, though not a steal. Should have at least a few years left.

Decanted for 2 hours. Dark ruby color, with developing slight hints of orange/brown suggestive of the age. Nose is rich black cherry, dark chocolate, cassis, cedar, mocha, tobacco. Similar notes on palette. Smooth integrated tannins, full bodied, medium length finish. Drinking absolutely beautifully at the moment, but fruit and tannic structure suggest this beast could be cellared for quite some time.

Decanted for 2h. Dark ruby to rim with Tina Turner legs. Nose is redolent with dark cherry, iodine, and black pepper. Same on the palate with an unctuous mouthfeel reminiscent of an Amarone. Medium finish length.

Drinking perfectly at the moment. Decanted for about an hour. Huge, aromatic, and very expressive on the nose. Displays a great mix of red currant, blackberry, cassis, plums, cherries and some complex notes of chewing tobacco, mocha, and earthiness. Velvety mouthfeel, as the tannins, although present, are very well integrated. Perfect balance of fruit, complexity, tannin and acidity which should support further cellaring. Long finish. Easily complemented a chargrilled ribeye steak.

Needs a lot of time to open - give it 2 hours. Starts out a bit on the light side but attained more body later. Nice dark fruits with a bit of spice - some tannin at the finish but not harsh. Slighty underwhelmed

One of our favorite bottles from this Vintner and this one did NOT disappoint! Rich and elegant with a smooth finish from the start, entertaining notes of cherry moving towards the darker fruits as it opened-up with essence of plumb, blueberry and blackberry.

In a great spot, no upside left here but didn’t get any sense it was near a downward trajectory. No reason to hold.

Decent Cab - isn’t show the age or depths of flavors I would have expected. QPR is OK.

Jumped into it after decanting for 30 minutes. Definitely improved with time--and opened beautifully after 2 hours.

Needs about an hour decant. After that, very nice. Good balance...on the sharp side. Medium-short length.

Almost impossible to find a quality Napa Cap for less than $40. This was one of those fortunate times.
