Friday, February 12, 2021 - Mahogany edged dark cored wine. The bouquet is open with blueberries, dark cherries,blackcurrant, dark plum, blackberries,lemon grass and cafe au lait. Youthful, no hint of age. The empty glass smells of cigar box. It has an extroverted masculine nature which it shares with its neighbour Mouton Rothschild. Slightly flabby, lacking in acid, but full bodied, balanced and with great length. Firm tannins. Reminds me of the 2016. I prefer the 2009 despite its recent shutdown because it has a firmer structure. Riedel Bordeaux glasses. Drunk at 15 deg C. Best after one hour. Estimated drinking window 2030-2070. NS
