Wednesday, June 1, 2022 - This 2010 was tasted alongside bottles of the 2015 annd 2018. All were good. This needs 3+ hour decant. N: very floral bouquet of violets, cassis, blueberries, lots of red cherries, prunes, sweet plums, a bit of tobacco, leather, and Bordeaux funk; perfume, vanilla and rose petals; a bit of petrol heat from the alcohol; pepper, bacon fat, spicy Italian sausage, wood chips. Even on the nose something tells you this is the 2010.

Palate: refreshing, “I really like this” — a lot of round fruit, mouth coating in a delightful way, lots of fruit, especially dense cherry. Lots of red cherries. Long finish of cherries, tobacco, blueberries, old suitcase leather. A lot of tannins typical of 2010; a lot of structure; the tannins and leather still overpowered the fruit. Maybe needs more time. With time more ripe fruits appear on the palate, almost fermented fruit. The color is deep purple like RB Bordeaux. Can improve a lot with time.
