Tuesday, December 27, 2016 - This bottle, my last of six, was somewhat less interesting to me than the previous. Perhaps the wine is now in decline or just some bottle variation, but it seemed flabby and less complex. It looks fine with medium lemon yellow color and no sign of oxidation. The nose is still oaky even after lots of time in the glass. There is also lemon curd and roasted nuts on the nose. On the palate it is round and slightly "chewy" but not bright and lacking in acidity. Flavors are lemon, vanilla, nuts and some honey, but the finish leaves a harsh aftertaste that fortunately doesn't last very long. Still not a bad wine but surely this bottle has seen better days.
