Wednesday, March 23, 2005 - We bought a half case on release; we drank one way back then (i think 2000) and noted that it was just too young to get a read on. Well, we opened one last night for my birthday and it was JUST as YOUNG; great nose; blueberrry, raspberry, chocolate, big sweet tannins and a very long finish but still very closed... but it seemed almost like a barrel sample; deep purple/red, it left my teeth clearly purple... even the waiter at the restaurant (lark creek inn) noted that my teeth had turned purple. we finished the bottle tonight (3/24/2005) and it had opened up beautifully but still seemed very youthful... we have 4 more left and i will wait another few years before opening the next one. Excellent!
