Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

82 Points

Tuesday, December 9, 2014 - No. We had a lot of wines that night, and a fair number of Cabernet based wines, and this wine paled in comparison. It's probably pretty good for the style of big modern CA wines, but that style is inherently problematic. There are some nice flavors in there - dark fruit, cassis, some spice, but it is heavily oaked so you end up with lots of sweet dripping vanilla and mocha. The palate is too ripe to be balanced and this is tiring to drink compared to the many lithe wines of the night. Nose - 4-4.5/6, Palate - 3.5/6, Finish - 3.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 0.5/2 = 11.5-12/20.
