Thursday, August 29, 2013 - PnP, served non-blind over 2 nights. Dark ruby core, no sign of age. Explosive nose, with bright aromas of sage, black cherry, pie crust, cured meat and milk chocolate. Large-scaled palate, but equally well lifted. This is not your father's barbera, no sir. Depth and breadth to spare it seems as this just wants to give more and more, so I sit back and I take more and more. Really quite a surprise on the night, and seriously tasty juice. Bravo, Marco! 14,0% abv, drink thru 2019.

3/19/2014 11:10:00 AM - Had a bottle of this at a restaurant. Totally agree with your note. It was not what I was expecting. Went home, found it on wine searcher, and ordered a case.

3/19/2014 11:33:00 AM - that was a bottle that I'd actually carried back after visiting with the Faccenda's during an extended stay in 2011. As it stands, I'll be back there (Piemonte) in less than two weeks, and while I'm sure there are lot of (current-release) wines that need to be tasted, I know myself well enough to know I'm going to inquire about this one. Nice move on the case

If you're ever in the Denver area, drop me a line, plenty of fun stuff that needs opening/sharing.
