Saturday, December 31, 2016 - This exploded out of the bottle - literally. Upon gently removing the cork, the wine erupted like a volcano. The bottom of the cork was not smoothed. It was roughed and bumpy. Not sure whether there is any connection there. This had been stored on its side for several years in the cellar so the eruption had nothing to do with shipping etc. Really odd. The wine itself was good but nothing special, as the $110+ price tag would suggest. Nice crispness for a BdB. Creamy with orchard fruits. Doughy. Finish is clean and precise. A nice Champagne but probably not worth the price tag.
