Friday, December 26, 2014 - The Wine Nerds do Christmas Dinner (Dave' Place - Kitchener, ON Canada): Popped and poured. Followed over 20 minutes. A bit of an odd musty, decaying organic matter note is central to the nose. Also, fresh mushroom, candied lemon peel, underripe pineapple, slightly bruised apple and pastry notes. There is quite a bit of ripe fruit and touches of maturity starting to show. Palate has quite low dosage which feels like 5 or 6 grams of RS with very high biting acid which was almost a bit too much for me. A touch bitter on the finish as well. I like my champagne mature so I might appreciate this more in a few years.
