Sunday, July 28, 2013 - This was good Riesling, with breadth across the palate, balance and some minerality. However there's a distinct malty note and not that much fruit. This was opened with a Keller 2005 Hubacker GG & a 2007 Alzinger "Steinertal" and both of those wee dramatically more intense and concentrated wines. No one thought the Clos St hune was the best wine.
I'd be interested in trying this next to the 375th anniversary Frederic Emile bottling from 2001, because my gut says qualitatively they're probably not that different.
