Thursday, March 12, 2020 - Plucked off the list for lunch at the Post Ranch Inn at a pretty fair price, actually a steal for the quality of the wine. Sitting high on the cliffs, overlooking the Pacific.

Fabulous fresh sea nose, clean tide pool, is it really the wine, or the ocean below? Lovely medium intensity, strong mineral/sea notes, saline umami, nice complexity, great steely/mineral acidity, still quite youthful and probably getting even better with age, punches way over Appellation Chablis. Perhaps enhanced by the fantastic lunch and amazing environment, but just fantastic.

5/23/2020 6:23:00 PM - Completely concur based upon a bottle we had last month. The 2010 Dauvissats are stunning from top to bottom, but this exceeds the expectations of any AC Chablis by a ridiculous margin.

5/23/2020 6:54:00 PM - Thanks doc. I haven't had a 1er or GC in a long time, I actually wonder if the increased depth and intensity might mask some of the fabulous complex sea/mineral notes.
