91 Points

Sunday, January 21, 2018 - Ripe dark red fruit, dried herbs and undergrowth, licorice, some earth and slight VA on the southern nose. The full-bodied palate brings in mostly resolved but still noticeable tannins, medium acidity as well as a slight hint of animality. Long finish tapering towards balsamico and leather. Ripe and southern, but with a backbone. Despite the age, the ripe fruit is still very intact and firm, with some funky elemenents adding a layer of complexity. This might be in its peak now, but will probably keep further still.
