Saturday, February 13, 2021 - 14.5% alcohol. Long cork of high quality with no wine penetration at all. Medium colour with some thinning but no bricking at the edge of the rim.
The nose is refined with a lively cocktail of liquorice, garrigue, truffle and fresh fig. In the mouth, the wine is lively and fruity but nowhere near as good because the alcohol protrudes too much at this stage; lacking in complexity too. Some of the elements of a great wine are in place, but patience and optimism are required. Revisit in five years at the earliest, and to be honest there is a distinct possibility that this might never become harmonious. Time will tell.
Not a repeat purchase.
