Sunday, September 17, 2023 - Gorgeous nose of dark cherry and sweet mint. The palate is back to prunes though (day one), and hot prunes at that, so very different from the last bottle which was just great. You can see where the "only great bottles" comes from with this one, it has been quite variable and this was the least good one I'm afraid. Chateauneuf can be a tough gig these days, and the 15% is doing it no favours. Let's see what day 2 is like, and if it has calmed down at all.
Edit: day 2 brought no relief. Might be destined for cooking now...
