Tuesday, October 23, 2007 - Starts out with a little Alban funk...tar, petrol, match strike. Not what you'd expect from Viognier...but you would if you were drinkin an Alban! Very exotic, creamy, yet still alive with pineapple acidity. Wonderful melon, white peach, fig fruit....with smoky honey butter, hazelnut, mineral stone, dried pineapple spice, vanilla oak. Not as floral as others, a little more "funk" in this one.....drinks more like the Roussanne. This wine is classic Alban White Rhone. Not necessarily Viognier correct, but tasty! Reminds me a LOT of SQN whites as well. LOVE IT!!!!
