Saturday, June 13, 2015 - Disgorged August 2013. Certainly One of the best wines I've ever tasted, and this was only his entry cuvee! Simultaneously rich, generous, elegant, mineral. Huge flavor with just a hint of oxidized Chardonnay notes and such lightness of being and never-ending favors. I hate big bubbles in Champagne and here the bubbles were superfine and didn't get in the way of the wine's complexity, rather they gave it a magic carpet to rise up and float on. If I could only drink this for the rest of my life that would be just fine..

The only drawback is I can't afford to buy this every day so if there any community members who can recommend other champagnes at a lower price point which can at least come a little bit close to this style then I'm all ears.

6/13/2015 7:40:00 PM - Thanks. We agree on all fronts. Selosse is a rockstar...and charges accordingly! We also would love to find a similar bubble at a lower price point, but not sure it exists. Our "house" champagne - Jacquesson "NVs" - is darn good, particularly the lower dosage bottles, but not in the same neighbourhood as Selosse...if you visit the Champagne region, do make sure you lunch at Selosse's restaurant Les Avises...excellent food, beautiful place and Selosse bubbles at far more reasonable prices ;-)
