1966 Château Trotanoy

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

88 Points

Sunday, August 8, 2021 - Not surprisingly, when there is cork failure the wine fails to perform. The top of the cork was shriveled and it immediately fell into the bottle with the slightest touch of the Durand. It must have held somewhat though since the level was VHS. It’s not hopelessly oxidized either, just pinched and just too lean even though a vestige of the fruit is still there. Good acids and tannins, it’s more about the structure than the grape. Sound bottles of ‘66 Trotanoy are still fragrant and lively.
