Thursday, January 5, 2023 - A rich golden color. More developed that I would have expected in color and on the nose. Honey, chestnut, and ripe white and yellow orchard fruit notes on the nose. Some floral notes, yellow and red flowers. On the palate, similar ripe white fruits, but with nice texture and mouthfeel. Notable dry extract on the mid palate and slightly metallic and oxidative note on the lengthy finish. As this opened with air, it did tighten up a bit and gained some more precision with some cooler notes coming in on the nose and palate. All in all quite enjoyable and excellent, if not fully at the standard that Leflaive has set historically and is currently back to producing.
