Not as youthful as my last bottle, and similar experience to SB57’s TN though without any metallic elements. Enjoyable but a bit of a letdown from what I hoped

2010 Leflaive Pucelles My contribution. My heart sank slightly when I took a small pour and saw how dark it was. Hazelnuts, pineapples and chrysanthemum on the opening with lemon rind, chalk and grapefruit on the palate. It felt like this was on the path towards rapid oxidation and that I had somehow caught this as it was 75% there. There was still some life to it with yellow fruits hanging on for dear life together with waning acidity and while not dead, this was not the best showing.

A rich golden color. More developed that I would have expected in color and on the nose. Honey, chestnut, and ripe white and yellow orchard fruit notes on the nose. Some floral notes, yellow and red flowers. On the palate, similar ripe white fruits, but with nice texture and mouthfeel. Notable dry extract on the mid palate and slightly metallic and oxidative note on the lengthy finish. As this opened with air, it did tighten up a bit and gained some more precision with some cooler notes coming in on the nose and palate. All in all quite enjoyable and excellent, if not fully at the standard that Leflaive has set historically and is currently back to producing.

No time for aeration. I feel this wine is still young and has huge potential for aging. White flower, pear, apple, stone, mineral aroma. Palate is linear and clean. High acidity. Long lasting finish of stone flavor.
