Friday, July 15, 2011 - This wine always fluctuates between overpriced and good value. I noticed it was the latter tonight, so I thought I'd revisit a champagne that's brought me so much pleasure in the past. Vigorous and slightly honeyed is my main impression. Forceful, but refined. Slightly toasty finish. I like this wine a lot - it's a great antidote to the likes of NV Moët (always vile) and Veuve Cliquot or Bollinger (always overpriced). [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Co-op, £18.99].
