90 Points

Friday, September 28, 2012 - At Chicago Chop House, Ryder Cup weekend, to go with the Tomahawk Ribeye. The nose was locked up tight upon opening and took at least 30 minutes to show any fruit. Once past that point it stated to open up nicely on the nose and palate. The tannins are firm and dry, the wine seemed fairly well in balance at such a young age. It was a noble companion to the perfectly cooked steak meal we were enjoying. We were baby killers with this selection but there were not many aged options at the $150 price point. I will hold the one bottle I have for a few more years.
