95 Points

Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - The colour of this 2002 Chambertin was a medium cherry red with a nose of red cherry, wild strawberry, rose and touches of hung game and earth. The palate was medium weight with lovely layers of flavour and a fine texture and drive. There was initially fine persistence with a touch of minerality in the balance of the wine. However it did shut down somewhat at the finish compared to 99 or 93 in a way that held it back from the top note of Chambertins I have had.
