Wednesday, June 28, 2023 - Drank last nite w/HA & friend at Manhatta. Unsure if I'd ever had this wine b4. Reviewed several of the CT notes &, unfortunately, tho I enjoyed this wine, I can't ascribe the same superlatives as many others did.
Decanted for appx an hour at the table. Nose is prototypical red burg: earthy, wood spice, some forest floor and perhaps even some dirty socks. Light to medium body, with some red fruit notes, earth, some spice, & fully resolved tannins. The wine didn't strike me as overly complex, and seemed a bit off-balance--perhaps bc the fruit is fading, and there's more spice and earth on the palate as a result. Pleasantly long finish. Liked, didn't love this wine.
