Friday, July 23, 2021 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, golden delicious, peach cobbler, vanilla/oak, honeysuckle, caramel, almond paste, spicy spices and mineral. Very good concentration, nicely layered yellow fruit, rich and dense, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium to long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with crème brulee at the end. This is a solid Meursault 1er crus that clearly expressing the rich and ripe 10 vintage. This is drinking at the peak, no need to wait.
