A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, golden delicious, peach cobbler, vanilla/oak, honeysuckle, caramel, almond paste, spicy spices and mineral. Very good concentration, nicely layered yellow fruit, rich and dense, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium to long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with crème brulee at the end. This is a solid Meursault 1er crus that clearly expressing the rich and ripe 10 vintage. This is drinking at the peak, no need to wait.

Another great bottle of this wine. Lots of citrus fruit, lemon curd, good minerality, and balanced acidity. The wine has a full mouthfeel and a medium to long finish. Very delightful. Unfortunately, it is my last bottle.

Popped and poured. Great showing from a great vintage. Layered fruit, decent acidity, lovely texture.

Mainly Meursaults: Unfortunately corked. Shame because this felt like a great wine underneath the taint.

Excellent balance of rich apple, vanilla, creamy texture and an underlying mineral note. Really nice with a lobster risotto.
