Saturday, October 10, 2020 - Decanted and kept at cellar temperature for 2 hours before returning to the bottle and taking to a friend’s house for dinner. Big but still elegant wine. Medium yellow gold color. Nose has some reduction and smokey elements that indicate grilled nectarine with some citrus and some slightly saline and mineral sensations. Palate is richly textured and slightly chewy with a honeyed note along with the grilled stone fruit and lemon pith on the finish. Very long and layered with bright acidity and yet a silky finish. Stupendous with a roasted home grown beet salad with ricotta, truffle honey, marinated grape tomatoes, cucumber and mint. The mint and honey flavors were significantly heightened with the wine. Really a wonderful bottle of wine that has many years of evolution ahead. Best bottle so far...one left.
