Saturday, September 1, 2012 - A very fruit forward, medium bodied blend of 67% cab, 15% cab franc, 8% merlot, 5% syrah, 4% petite verdot & 1% malbec. Tannins offer a light grip and hint of tobacco and pepper. This is a fairly simple, easy drinking wine that does not overwhelm or underwhelm. Could hold its own with a burger or steak. Dark berry fruit and cassis, somewhat brambly.Got this in a monthly wine club so probably overpaid but if I saw it at around $15 I wouldn't mind having another. Not sure about the winery or its production, as this is the only vintage of this wine. Probably has another good year or two if cellared properly, hard to tell after that. Glad I opened when I did, still very fresh and bright for a simple quaffer.
