Thursday, October 26, 2006 - The appeal of Damijan's wines is their distinctiveness--the clarity and intensity of flavors they deliver, on the edge of madarization, with a striking amber-apricot color, and nose that combines lightly-candied ginger, honey, pear, and light floral notes. Clean and lingering finish. This bottle opened with a slight medicinal sense hat faded to show Damijan at its peak. But the second day, it had crossed the line and shows more madarized than I like. The wine will hold, but I doubt it will improve. Drink up.
