90 Points

Thursday, September 6, 2012 - Pop and poured, in glass 15 minutes. Beautiful, typical aromas; beautiful high tones. This offers almost electrically strung minerality and red fruit, with flint, quartz, and a zinc - manganese dioxide reaction all dosed in delicate northwest wild strawberries. Palate is soft and light in body, showing a nice coating red fruit character, almost like some strawberry poprocks candy dissolved in water. Nice acid dials it up on the finish, with bold sweet tannins, tart, nearly bitter minerality, and those light red fruits. The intensity lingers for over a minute. This is an utter beauty on the nose, but still showing quite young elsewhere. A real lovely, and the best of the last three vintages for me. 90+; the palate keeps this from 91 at present.
