Tuesday, August 6, 2013 - Big full and pronounced aromas. Some prickly fruit barrel notes. Citrus and apricot. Fleshy texture, cream and honey. Did I say 'pronounced?' Spicy, corn, cream. Pretty fantastic for its in-your-face-ness.
Day 3' and the oak has given way for a more cream soda appeal on the palate. Dizzying array of aroma. Mineral, stone, fruit, herb oils. I guess the oak still shows as the rubber band that holds my heads of broccoli together. Some honey shows at the finish. Intriguing. The acid doesn't quite pop so much, but I'd imagine its overall package (pronounced, complex, full, some oak) would get this wine to 2021.
Day 4 and an allspice note really emerges in the aromas. Allspice.
