Golden colored with slight brownish hues, nose of citrus and stone, notes of mineral melon with a layer of slightly grassy undertones, yet pleasant with nice balance and acidity. A nice match for the seafood entrees. Still in its acceptable drinking window but time to drink.
Nose of citrus and stone. Flavor profile was similar. More mineral then I expected but it was quite nice. Good level of acidity. Rather enjoyable bottle.

Citrus notes dominate the bouquet, with grass and earthy undertones. The palate follows, with good underlying acidity. The acidity made for a nice match with the roasted beets.

Big full and pronounced aromas. Some prickly fruit barrel notes. Citrus and apricot. Fleshy texture, cream and honey. Did I say 'pronounced?' Spicy, corn, cream. Pretty fantastic for its in-your-face-ness. Day 3' and the oak has given way for a more cream soda appeal on the palate. Dizzying array of aroma. Mineral, stone, fruit, herb oils. I guess the oak still shows as the rubber band that holds my heads of broccoli together. Some honey shows at the finish. Intriguing. The acid doesn't quite pop so much, but I'd imagine its overall package (pronounced, complex, full, some oak) would get this wine to 2021. Day 4 and an allspice note really emerges in the aromas. Allspice.

Big and honeyed with some earthy funk on the backround but remains bright and intense and not oxy. Works it out at $40.

PHMG WAG: Tour de France 2014 (Chateau Lyon): This is a nice open wine with citrus, melon, spice, and grass (not like the New World'ers!). Better with food given the acidity.

Grassy, herbal with cold cream and some mineral notes in the mix. Nice on the palate, quite fresh and tart, good finish. 89-91

This is very nice tonight with citrus and green fruit, floral notes, oyster shell and a firm acidic core.

Gourmet IV opened by Rick. Subtle notes of cut grass and rainwater. Nice in a restrained way.

Darn, that tastes quite good. Honey and smoke and mineral. Quite tasty indeed. Works at its $50 price point.
