2/28/2013 9:29:00 AM - Bummer. I see you posted two TN for this wine. One is 87 and the other corked. I am wondering if that is the same bottle? I haven't run into a bad one as of yet. Thanks. Barry Notes

2/28/2013 3:23:00 PM - The 87 was for the 2nd bottle I opened. I dumped the first one. Oddly the 2nd bottle was a litttle off as well but not corked. I got those 2 bottles with my fall allocation. In fact I was just out to the winery last week and picked up 3 more bottles of it plus 2 bottles of the 1999 Ferrington that was in there library. They are sending me a new bottle and I am sending them the cork at there request so they can test for TCA

2/28/2013 3:56:00 PM - Thanks for update. At least they are replacing it. I just started buying WS last year and have a couple cases of their stuff at this point. I like them a lot and hope too have better luck. I tend to let my Pinots sit for 5 years before pulling the cork. Maybe should try one just to see if I have the same problem. Also am a fan of Kosta Browne and Black Kite (big CA Pinots). I would be curious on what they find with your bad cork.

BTW, I ordered some BV Georges de Latour a couple of month ago directly from the winery. One of the bottle was a serious leaker. They did send me a replacement. I kept the leaker and will pop it sometime this spring to see if it's bad. Sometimes you get lucky with leakers. Off bottles do happen now and then, that's for sure. Again, thanks for your response. 2/28/2013 4:09:00 PM - Are you on there allocation list? I have about 9 cases of it from the various blocks; Coastlands, the estate, westwide, rochioli vinyard and Burt williams morning dew are some of my favorites from WS; I generally hold mine as well if there are younger vintages however when I have multiple of the same bottle I drink one early on and note it and then compare notes when I open the other bottles later on........ Try Lynmar Pinot Noirs; they are very good as well
