Friday, April 6, 2007 - My last bottle, added to the Parker BB 2002 Pinot virtual tasting. Some funk, forest floor and some pepper on the nose. The palate has a sweet profile, with some blueberry, sour cherry and cinnamon, as well as some signature Rosella's citrus acidity. Finish is a little rough still so let's see how it goes in 2 hours.

Open now just less than 24 hours. Nose shows some heat, some baking spice (which I don't recall often on a Rosella's pinot?) and a note that I'd call 'stemmy' but I can't think that is right so I'll stay with a peppery kind of thing. The acidity in this wine is quite prominent, very much more in the fore now than on opening. Distinctly pink grapefruit in style, with some sour cherry and plum behind it. Zippy yet soft, probably ready to go.
