Friday, May 14, 2021 - wine number 4 of my birthday week celebration. bought on a visit to a small wine shop in my area known for older vintages, there to pick up something else and the staff said they had just brought a case from long cellaring. took the shot and happy i did. past its prime but not far on the descend. slight mold on the top of cork, but no off putting smell from the bottle, cork saturated, came out whole bottle still filled above shoulder.

half hour decant is all it needed. beautiful dark ruby color light on the nose with little hints of red fruit and smoke. slightly sweet and almost overly acidic. long minerally finish.

wish I had tried a few years before, but still good enough to grab another bottle from the case.
