Tuesday, December 24, 2019 - From a virtually perfect bottle with a firm cork, this wine had a deep gold center and yellow/clear rims. The nose was muted and a touch funky at first. Was it mildly corked? It didn't seem that way and the nose did improve with air. However, something was a bit off. The nose improved with 2 hours of air. I got dried apricots, pear, honey, and minerals.
In the mouth, this wine was stunning with ripe fruit, integrated acidity, and a long finish.
This was an impressive wine with a bit of a funky nose. Drink up with a couple hours of air.
