Saturday, December 29, 2012 - From magnum, a library release. Once again, amazing what can happen when a wine is stored appropriately. Red-purple in the glass, just a touch of murk. Little sediment. The nose is musky, earthy, and showing dark red cherry aromas. With time in the glass, this evolved nicely, with flavors of lean black fruit, a touch of clove, and dirt. Long, nice acid, well-balanced, strong finish. Exceptional. A real nice surprise. I had expected something perhaps a bit thin and dilute -- to the contrary, this was complex and relatively youthful. Loved it.
