Sunday, September 17, 2023 - 11.5% alcohol; made from 30% Macabeo, 30% Parellada, 30% Xarel-lo, and 10% Chardonnay (Chardonnay is not listed by CellarTracker); made by Bodegas Villa Conchi, Vila-Rodona, Spain, about 20 km from the coast, near Zaragoza; opened to celebrate my 87th birthday; Saranty Imports, Stamford, Connecticut; pressure somewhat less than normal (the pop wasn't all that resounding), so many fine bubbles it was initially hard to pour; color is very light yellow ('8K gold'); nose of alcohol and cassis (weisser Johannisbeersaft); medium body, sweetness not well integrated with the other components, a long finish with minerals and a little bitter; pair with light umami foods like seafood or chicken, or with cheeses for hors d'oeuvres or dessert
