This needed a little air at first, but it was sumptuous and savory that opens up into tones of black cherries, raspberries, licorice, pipe tobacco, crushed rocks, cedar, wild flowers, spice notes, dried herbs. The Full bodied feel is broad shouldered with restrained power that is backed up by crisp, medium+ acidity and resolving, medium+ tannins. I don’t have much (read close to any) experience with aged Madiran, but this is pretty sexyy right now!
